Kathmandu (Hamro Khelkud) – Nepal have won the highest number of medals at the Nepal International Pickleball Championship 2024. Nepal finished the tournament with 53 medals in total, in a tournament jointly organized by the Nepal Super League (NSL) and Pickleball Association Nepal (PAN) at the National Tennis Court in Lalitpur.
Nepal’s medal tally included 20 gold medals, 13 silver and 20 bronzes. India finished second overall with 36 medals that comprised of nine gold, 16 silver and 11 bronze medals.
Singapore rounded off the top three with seven gold, one silver and four bronze medals. The United Kingdom stood fourth while Thailand finished fifth in the overall rankings.
Players from Britain, Singapore, Thailand, India, and Nepal competed in the first ever International Pickleball Championship held in Nepal.
Speaking after the event, PAN president Saurav Bhandari expressed the event’s historic significance as the first ever tournament held in Nepal. He emphasized PAN’s dedication to the growth of pickleball in the area by pointing out that the organization presently manages the instruction and oversight of more than a hundred prospective players.
