Kushal Bhurtel’s All-round Show Guides Nepal To T20I Tri-Series Final in Hong Kong

Kathmandu (Hamro Khelkud) – Kushal Bhurtel’s brilliant all-round performance has guided Nepal to the final of the ongoing T20I tri-series in Hong Kong. Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea by a big margin of 85 runs to qualify for the final.

Losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Nepal posted a total of 198 runs in 20 overs at the loss of six wickets. Opener Kushal Bhurtel top-scored for Nepal with his 39-ball 59 with four fours and four sixes. Sundeep Jora also reached a half-century and was dismissed for 56 off just 26 deliveries with three fours and four sixes.

Similarly, opener Binod Bhandari made 27 off 22 while Bibek Yadav finished off the innings with a flurry, smashing three sixes in four balls he faced.

Assad Vala took two wickets for PNG while Nosaina Pokana, John Kariko and Norman Vanua picked up one wicket each.

Chasing 199 in Mong Kok, PNG were bundled over for 113 runs in 16.1 overs. Hiri Hiri top-scored with a 19-ball 28 while Sese Bau made a 13-ball 21 runs. Tony Ura contributed 13 runs to the innings while Nosaina Pokana made 12 runs.

Kushal Bhurtel was the pick of the ballers for Nepal with four wickets in four overs, giving away just 12 runs in the process. Pratis GC took two scalps while Aakash Chand and Gulshan Jha picked up one wicket each.

Nepal qualified for the final with three points from two matches with the first match against Hong Kong finishing with points shared due to rain. Hong Kong & PNG’s encounter later today will finalize the second finalists.
