Nepal Squad Announced For SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – The Nepal U-19 Women’s squad for the upcoming SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship in Bangladesh has been officially announced by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Head coach Balgopal Sahukhala has trimmed down his squad to 23 to compete in the tournament scheduled from February 2 to 8.

The squad predominantly features players who have previously represented Nepal at U-15 and U-17 levels. A total of 35 players from across the country were initially called up to a closed camp before the final squad was decided. 

The coaching staff includes assistant coaches Ganga Gurung and Shyam Sundar Singh, with Shailesh Karmacharya as the goalkeeping coach. Indu Duwal has been appointed as the team manager.

The SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship will see four teams, including Nepal, India, Bhutan, and host Bangladesh, competing in a round-robin league format. The top two teams from the league stage will advance to the final.

Nepal will kick off their campaign by facing hosts Bangladesh, on February 2. The second match will be against Bhutan on February 4 while the third match against India will be played on February 6. 

The tournament’s final is scheduled for February 8, and all matches will take place at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Sipahi Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka.

Goalkeepers: Sujata Tamang. Karun Budhathoki, Lila Joshi 

Defenders: Divya Yesmali Magar, Sita Rokaya, Rojita Bista, Sarita Kumari Nath, Ganga Rokaya, Simran Rai, Maya Maskey

Midfielders: Brisana Chaudhary, Jhuma Bishwakarma, Sarah Bajracharya, Sushila KC, Bhawana Pariyar, Punam Chemjong

Forwards: Senu Pariyar, Sukriya Miya, Barsha Oli, Lila Chand, Purnima Rai, Samikshya Magar, Sajina Syangtan
