Kathmandu – The Nepal National Volleyball Team is geared up for their second encounter against Bhutan in the ongoing Five Nations Basketball Championship in the Maldives. The Nepali squad is set to face off against Bhutan in the semifinals today at 9:15 PM NST.
Nepal began its championship journey with a 55-61 defeat against Bhutan. However, they quickly regained their momentum, winning the remaining matches and securing the top spot in the round-robin league.
In their second match, Nepal secured a narrow victory of 62-66 against Pakistan, followed by an emphatic 90-61 win over Bangladesh. In their final round-robin match, Nepal defeated the Maldives with a scoreline of 75-68, solidifying their position at the top and securing a place in the semifinals.
After their initial victory against Nepal, Bhutan managed to defeat the hosts, Maldives, in their second match. However, they faced defeats in the subsequent matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan.
In the first semifinal, Pakistan will go head-to-head with Bangladesh. Additionally, the host team, Maldives, faced elimination from the championship after suffering defeats in all four of their outings. The final match is scheduled for Thursday.
