Surkhet (HamroKhelkud) – Madhesh Province, Nepal APF Club, Tribhuwan Army Club and Lumbini Province have made winning starts in the 34th National Men’s Volleyball.

In the first match of the tournament that commenced on Friday in Birendranagar, Surkhet, Madhesh defeated Sudurpaschim Province 3-2, going the full distance. Sudurpaschim made a comeback to level the match at 2-2 from 2-1 down. In the decisive set, Madhesh nicked the win with a score of 15-13.
APF defeated Koshi Province in straight sets in the second match. APF got the victory with scorelines of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-17.
Lumbini also defeated Bagmati Province in straight sets. Lumbini took home the win 25-20, 25-13 and 25-11. In the final match of the day, Army defeated Karnali Province 25-12, 25-7 and 25-12.
The tournament organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association will run till January 10.
Police, APF, Bagmati and Koshi make up Group A. Army, Gandaki, Karnali, Sudurpaschim and Madhesh find themselves in Group B. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals.
