Kathmandu – FC Khumalar emerged victorious in their first match of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League, all thanks to the late strike from Cameronian forward Messouke Oloumou.

The league was inaugurated by the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah, who presented the match ball to referee Prakash Nath Shrestha. The inaugural match saw Khumaltar defeat Friends Club 1-0 to start their premier division with a victory. Both teams looked equally hungry to score in the first half, but neither could break the deadlock.
Messouke scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute, making a run from the right flank to connect with a pass from skipper Jaya Gurung. He then dribbled past two defenders and placed the ball in the goalpost to earn his side’s first three points.
The league will feature three matches on Saturday, with newcomers Church Boys United facing four-time champions Nepal Police Club at 2:30 PM in Chyasal Stadium. Additionally, Three Star Club will play against Nepal APF Club at 2:30 PM, while Manang Marshyangdi Club will meet Himalayan Sherpa Club at 5:30 PM in Dashrath Stadium.
