Madhesh Shock APF, Sudurpaschim Climb To The Top

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Madhesh Province have registered a surprise victory against Nepal APF Club in the PM Men’s Cup 2080 on Thursday. Madhesh chased down the target of 247 runs in 48 overs at the loss of five wickets to register their first-ever victory against the departmental side. 

Rupesh Singh remained not out on 72 playing run-a-ball with four fours and three sixes in his innings. Pawan Sarraf made 64 off 66 with four fours and five maximums in his innings.

APF struggled with the ball as their frontline pacer Abinash Bohora suffered an injury towards the end of the first innings. Bohora will undergo surgery on his hand. Ramesh Kurmi and Rohit Paudel’s two wickets each couldn’t spiral APF towards the a win in Kirtipur.

Batting first, APF got to 246 for 9 in 50 overs. Aasif Sheikh and Rohit Paudel made 59 and 58 respectively while Amar Routela remained stranded one run short of a half century. Rupesh Singh and Pradip Paswan took three wickets each for Madhesh. 

In Siddharthanagar, Sudurpaschim registered their third straight victory and climbed to the top of the table. Defending 201 runs against Gandaki, Sudurpaschim bowled their opposition out on just 93 runs to register a 108-run victory. Sher Malla took five wickets for the Far-Western outfit while Gajendra Bohora contributed with two wickets of himself.

Sudurpaschim’s innings earlier was guided by 60 runs from Kiran Thagunna and 46 from Narayan Joshi. Bipin Khatri and Ankit Neupane took three wickets each for Gandaki while Kamal Pariyar and Amrit Gurung took two wickets of their own.

Mulpani saw Army defeat Koshi Province by nine wickets in under ten overs. Chasing 89 runs, Army got to the total in just 9.5 overs. 

Army’s Shahab Alam took six wickets to dismantle Koshi’s batting lineup that had skipper Ankit Subedi as the only batter to reach double figures with his 41 runs.
