West Ham moved back into fourth position in the Premier League with a crucial 3-2 win over Leicester City. Jesse Lingard scored twice; Bowen added the third while both goals were scored by Iheanacho for the foxes.
Lingard scored one in the 29th minute and other in the 44th minute to give West Ham the lead. He has been in unreal form since he joined the Hammers from Manchester United. He now has 8 PL goals this season which is already the highest number of goals he had scored in a single PL season. Leicester looked dismantled in the first half as there was no real chance of getting back to the game.
Jarrod Bowen made it 3-0 in the 48th minute. West Ham started looking more dangerous and were denied a fourth goal when Issa Diop’s attempt was ruled offside. Leicester City started pushing for the goal after 60 minutes only.
Finally, they found a goal via Iheanacho in the 60th minute who has been in great form recently. With a second goal in stoppage time, Iheanacho added to the suspense. But West Ham held on for a crucial win in the last six minutes of extra time.
With 55 points from 31 games, West Ham move above Liverpool and Chelsea. They are now one point behind Leicester, who have lost their second league game in a row.
