Kathmandu – Gorkhali Rugby Club and Tribhuvan Army Club started the 3rd National Club Rugby 15s League victoriously.

The inaugural match saw Gorkhali Rugby Club defeating Himalayan Tiger Rugby Club 67-17 at Dashrath Stadium. Himalayan Tiger, who took an initial lead, failed to hold on to the lead.
In the day’s second match, defending champion Tribhuvan Army Club, who are on the verge to complete their hattrick registered an empathic victory of 72-0 over Aakash Bhairab Club. Earlier, Army won both editions.
Nepal Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising inaugurated the match by handing over the ball to the match referees. The league is organized by Nepal Rugby Association with four teams competing. The top team after the round-robin will win the title.
The third and fourth matches of the league will be held on February 15 where Army will see Himalayan Tiger, and Aakash Bhairab will take on Gorkhali Rugby Club. Similarly, the Himalayan Tiger will meet Aakash Bhairab and Army will face Gorkhali Rugby Club on the final day of the league on February 18.
The winners will receive a cash prize, a trophy, and medals. However, the amount of the cash prize has not been disclosed by the association.
