Rugby Association Announces Final Squad for ASIAD

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu – The Nepal Rugby Association has announced the final squad of the men's rugby squad that will represent Nepal in the 19th Asian Games, set to take place in Hangzhou, China. To mark its first participation in the ASIAD, the Rugby Association has picked 12 players from the selection match held at Dasarath Stadium on Sunday. The selected players who will don the national colors at the Asian Games are Birat Shrestha, Shri Ram Shrestha, Bikram Puri, Niroj Karki, Sabin Mahat, Jhukendra Rai, Nabin Maharjan, Yadu Adhikari, Bishal Badu, Bivesh Basu, Suman Chaulagain, and Pujan Fewali. By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Gorkhali Rugby Club and Tribhuvan Army Club started the 3rd National Club Rugby 15s League victoriously. The inaugural match saw Gorkhali Rugby Club defeating Himalayan Tiger Rugby Club 67-17 at Dashrath Stadium. Himalayan Tiger, who took an initial lead, failed to hold on to the lead. In the day's second match, defending champion Tribhuvan Army Club, who are on the verge to complete their hattrick registered an empathic victory of 72-0 over Aakash Bhairab Club.
