Rugby Association Announces Final Squad for ASIAD

Kathmandu – The Nepal Rugby Association has announced the final squad of the men’s rugby squad that will represent Nepal in the 19th Asian Games, set to take place in Hangzhou, China.

To mark its first participation in the ASIAD, the Rugby Association has picked 12 players from the selection match held at Dasarath Stadium on Sunday.

The selected players who will don the national colors at the Asian Games are Birat Shrestha, Shri Ram Shrestha, Bikram Puri, Niroj Karki, Sabin Mahat, Jhukendra Rai, Nabin Maharjan, Yadu Adhikari, Bishal Badu, Bivesh Basu, Suman Chaulagain, and Pujan Fewali.

In addition to the main squad, the Rugby Association has also named three reserve players who will be ready to step in if needed. Bikram Bharati, Bikash Rana Magar, and Sujan Kumal have been designated as the reserve players.

The 19th Asian Games, one of the most prestigious multi-sport events in Asia, is scheduled to be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
