Army victorious in Hockey Tournament

Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) became victorious in the fifth Sahana Pradhan Memorial Women’s Hockey Tournament at Janakupur on Saturday.

TAC defeated Lumbini Province 2-1 to clinch the title. TAC’s Sitamaya Bal and Saraswati Tamang scored apiece while Lumbini’s Ananaya Baruwal scored a consolation goal.

Puja Kumari from Lumbini was named the tournament’s best player, while Pratima Saroj and Himali Thapa from TAC won the best goalkeeper and best defender awards, respectively.

The tournament featured seven teams, including the champion army and six province teams. The winners were honored by Mithila Municipality mayor Mahendra Mahato, Nepal Hockey Association Vice President Anil Sharma, and others.
