India, who started with the bat after losing the toss at Adelaide Oval collected 168 runs in the scheduled 20 overs losing 6 wickets. A two-half-century inning each from Hardik Pandya (63) and Virat Kohli (50) was not enough for India to qualify for the finals. New Zealand won the toss at Sydney Cricket Ground and elected to bat first. It cost them 4 wickets to collect 152 runs in the prescribed 20 overs.
