CAN Unveils Final Squad for ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup

Kathmandu – The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the final squad that will represent Nepal in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, scheduled to begin next week.

CAN has chosen to rest experienced batter Gyanendra Malla and Karan KC, opting instead to provide opportunities to promising young players. Meanwhile, Surya Tamang, Dev Khanal, Sundip Jora, and Shyam Dhakal has marked their return to the 16-member squad.

However, star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane and all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee will be unable to participate in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup due to prior commitments in the Global T20 Canada tournament.

The ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup is set to take place from July 23 to 30 in Sri Lanka.Nepal has been drawn into Group ‘B’ alongside UAE, Pakistan A, and India A. Group ‘A’ comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Oman.

While the test-playing nations will field their under-23 squads, the associate nations will be represented by their first squads.

Final Squad:

Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh (Wicket Keeper), Arjun Saud (Wicket Keeper), Rohit Paudel (Captain), Kushal Malla, Aarif Sheikh, Dev Khanal, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Bhim Sharki, Shyam Dhakal, Prarish GC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Kishore Mahato, Sundip Jora, and Surya Tamang.
