Kathmandu – Nepal National Cricket Team spinner Sandeep Lamichhane and All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee will miss the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup scheduled to begin next week.
The National Cricketers duo will be unavailable to represent Nepal in the ACC Emerging Cup, due to their prior commitments in the Global T20 Canada, which starts on July 20.
Dipendra Singh Airee has been bought by the Montreal Tigers during the draft, marking his first opportunity to play in an international league in his professional cricket career.
On the other hand, Sandeep Lamichhane has been bought by Surrey Jaguar. He has been actively participating in the Global T20 Canada.
Despite the absence of these two players, Nepal will be competing in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, representing their status as ACC Premier Cup Champions. The top three teams from the Premier Cup have secured their positions in this prestigious tournament.
Nepal has been drawn into Group ‘B’ alongside UAE, Pakistan A, and India A. Group ‘A’ comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Oman. While the test-playing nations will field their under-23 squads, the associate nations will be represented by their first squads in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
The ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup is set to take place from July 23 to 30 in Sri Lanka.
