CAN hikes remuneration of cricketers with great disparity among male and female players

Kathmandu – Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has increased the remuneration of male and female cricketers who have signed central contracts with the cricket governing body of Nepal. A board meeting of CAN on Tuesday took a decision to this effect.

CAN has increased the remuneration of male players by Rs 10,000 in each grade. Prior to this, Grade A players used to earn Rs 50,000, while Grade B and C players used to receive monthly remuneration of Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000. Now, the remunerations of Grade A, B and C players have been fixed at Rs 60,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.

In the women’s section, CAN has increased the remuneration of Grade C players by Rs 5,000 and that of Grade A and B players by Rs 6,000 each. Earlier, Grade C players used to get Rs 10,000 each but now they are entitled to receive Rs 15,000. Similarly, remuenration of Grade B players has been raised from Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000 and that of Grade A players has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 21,000.

Likewise, the salaries of ground staff by Rs 3,000 each. Similarly, the salaries of field assistants and pitch curators of TU Cricket Ground have been increased by Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000 respectively.

Grade A: Sandeep Lamichhane, Gyanendra Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sompal Kami and Karan KC

Grade B: Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Sharad Vesawkar, Aarif Sheikh, Avinash Bohara, Binod Bhandari

Grade C: Kushal Malla, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Kamal Singh Airee, Bikram Sob, Sahab Alam, Sushan Bhari and Pawan Sharaf

Women’s Section:

Grade A: Rubina Chhetri Belbase, Sita Rana Magar, Indu Berma, Kajal Shrestha and Karuna Bhandari

Grade B: Sarita Magar, Kabita Kunwar, Apsari Begum, Saraswati Chaudhary, Sabnam Rai and Jyoti Pandey

Grade C: Dolly Bhatt, Kabita Joshi, Sangita Rai, Roma Thapa, Asmina Karmacharya, Mamta Chaudhary and Bindu Rawal
