Kathmandu – Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the names of six teams that will play in the Nepal T-20 League. According to CAN’s Acting Secretary Prashant Malla, the six teams were selected by the CAN’s board meeting on Tuesday.
The League will be held from September 24 to October 22 this year. The league will have teams from Biratnagar, Janakpur, Katahmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini and Far West. Since CAN will be organizing its own league, other leagues will not get national recognition from now onwards. Other franchise-based leagues such as Everest Premier League, Pokhara Premier League and Dhangadhi Premier League will not get recognition anymore.
The double round-robin league will be held in home and away format.
Indian company Seven Three Sports will be the strategic and commercial partner of Nepal T20 League. CAN has signed an eight-year deal with the Indian company to organize the league.
