Young Shuttlers to participate in International Tournaments

The 8-member Nepali Badminton team, including 6 shuttlers will fly towards India on Friday to compete in two International Badminton Tournaments in India.

Nepal will first compete in the India International Series scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from 23rd to 27th August. First Nepali to rank world’s number one junior badminton player Prince Dahal along with Kshitij Khanal, Himal Chand, Rashila Maharjan, Rose Pandey, and Vishna Bishta are among the shuttlers to participate in the tournaments. While Rajesh Pratap Shakya is the coach of the team, the responsibility of the manager is given to Jeevan Singh Kunwar.

Later, Nepal will participate in the India Junior Grand Prix in Pune from August 29 to September 4. As per Nepal Badminton Association Secretary Nabin Bikram Shah, Nepal will vie in 5 events in each competition including male-female, singles-doubles, and mixed doubles.

Nepal Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising, Nepal Badminton Association President Ramji Bahadur Shrestha, and others bade farewell to the traveling team amidst a program on Thursday.
