Kathmandu – Nepal National Women Football Team midfielder Preeti Rai penned down a sponsorship deal with Umbro Nepal.
Rai and Umbro signed a year-long Momendroum of Understanding (MOU) worth 6 lakhs per year. As per the MOU, Rai will receive Rs. 25000 cash and sports equipment worth Rs. 25,000 every month.
Umbro mentioned that they are delighted to sign a sponsorship deal with midfielder Preeti Rai. Bhat Bhataini Super Market is the official distributor of Umbro in Nepal.
Umbro announced the sponsorship the day after Nepal sidelined defending champions India in the semi-final of the SAFF Women’s Championship. In the historic 1-0 win over India, Preeti was adjudged the player of the match. Bangladesh won the SAFF Championship title for the first time defeating Nepal 3-1 on Monday.
Nepal has played the finals of 5 editions out of 6 but it has not been able to win in any of the editions. Rai has also captained the women’s age group team.
