Tottenham Hotspur boss José Mourinho has been fired today. Mourinho was under intense pressure after a poor run of form.
Tottenham are out of Europa League, FA cup and technically out of PL race. Only cup competition they are in is Carabao Cup in which they face Manchester City. They are seventh–and perform poorly in general.
“The club can today announce that José Mourinho and his coaching staff João Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties,” read a statement released by Tottenham just before 11am on Monday.
Levy added “José and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a club. José is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution.”
Ryan Mason, an associate coach, will take over as first-team coach and is projected to finish the season with the help of Chris Powell.
