Kathmandu – Nepal APF Club captain Rohit Paudel and batter Sundeep Jora shine as APF began their PM Cup One Day National Tournament 2024 campaign with a resounding victory. Sundeep’s stellar innings of 112 and Rohit’s 4-wicket haul paved the way for APF to secure an 89-run victory over Bagmati Province at the TU Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Invited to bat first, APF faced early setbacks with the top-order batsmen succumbing to the opposition’s attack. However, Sundeep Jora’s brilliant century steered the team to a competitive total of 241 runs in their allotted 50 overs, with a wicket in hand.
Opener Prajwal Shahi and Aasif Sheikh contributed 10 and 15 runs, respectively, while Rohit Paudel and Sumit Maharjan fell early for 2 and 6 runs. Lokesh Bam added 27 runs, with further contributions from Bhuvan Karki (10) and Amar Routela (22). The innings concluded with Abinash Bohara and Mousom Dhakal remaining unbeaten with 18 and 1 run, respectively.
Later, Bagmati Province struggled against APF’s bowling attack. Bagmati were bowled out for 152 runs in 42.5 overs. Rit Gautam top-scored with 60 runs off 89 balls, while Ashutosh Ghiraiya (41), Bibek Magar (15), and Rabin Joshi (20) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
APF Captain Rohit Paudel stood out with the ball, claiming an impressive 4/26 in 9 overs, while Abinash Bohara took 2 wickets. Puran BK and Bhuvan Karki contributed with 1 wicket each.
Meanwhile, in the parallel match at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium in Siddarthanagar, Karnali Province secured a victory over Gandaki Province. After winning the toss and opting to field first, Karnali restricted Gandaki to a total of 122 runs in their allotted 45 overs. Karnali chased down the target, reaching 126 runs in 33.2 overs with 7 wickets in hand.
