Kathmandu – South Korea Men’s and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Women’s clinched the title of Asia Rugby U18 Sevens Championship on Sunday.
South Korea, trailing 12-7 in the first half, marked an appreciable comeback to be named the champions of Aisa Rugby U18. UAE, comfortably leading 12-0 for a while failed to defend the lead. The Koreans secured 7 points just before going into the halfway.
South Korea gave UAE no chance to score after the interval. Instead, they added 14 points to snatch the match scoring 21-12 at Dashrath Stadium. Furthermore, Malaysia hammered India 36-6 to secure the third position.
Similarly, UAE secured the title in the women’s category in a maiden tournament hosted by Nepal Rugby Association (NRA). UAE comfortably defeated India by 26-5 in the finals. Moreover, Malaysia outplayed Thailand 19-7 to conclude the tourney third.
