The Cricket Association of Nepal suspended Sandeep Lamichhane from the National Cricket team after being accused of rape of a minor.
Acting Secretary of CAN Prashant Bikram Malla informed that the Executive Committee of CAN has decided to suspend Sandeep after an arrest warrant was issued by the Kathmandu District Court two days after the complaint filed against Sandeep was made public.
After the complaint was filed in Police Circle Gaushala on Tuesday, the police started collecting the evidence. Police said Sandeep and a minor were staying in room number 305 of a hotel located in Kathmandu District Metropolitan City 9.
It is said that after staying in the hotel for about 7 hours, they were seen walking away from the hotel at 6:46 in the morning of Bhadra 6th. An arrest warrant has also been issued to arrest Sandeep on Thursday by the Kathmandu District Court.
