Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Chetan Ghimire, the young head coach of Nepal Police Club, has assumed the role of assistant coach of Jhapa FC for the second edition of the Nepal Super League (NSL). This announcement was made on Jhapa’s social media on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite Ghimire’s appointment, Jhapa FC are yet to reveal their head coach. In the recent season of the Martyr’s Memorial A Division League, Ghimire steered Police to a commendable third-place finish. With an AFC ‘A’ license to his name, Ghimire has also overseen the Nepal Police Club Women’s Football Team as well as served as an assistant coach under Gary Phillips during his tenure with the Nepal National Women’s Football Team.
Ghimire dedicated his entire playing career to the Police team, hanging up his boots only after multiple ACL injuries. He has also represented the nation as a player on the international stage.
Meanwhile, NSL’s other teams have also announced their head coaches. Ilam have enlisted the seasoned Meghraj KC, Chitwan have secured the signing of Indian coach Khalid Jamil, Dhangadhi FC have announced Yugal Kishore Rai as their head coach, and Lalitpur have welcomed Ian Andrew Gillan into their ranks.
The second edition of Nepal Super League is kicking off on November 24. Three new teams as well as six teams that participated in the first edition will lock horns in the second edition. Player auctions have already concluded for the second edition.
