Pokhara hands Lumbini their first defeat

Kathmandu – Lumbini All Stars experienced their first defeat in an ongoing Nepal T20 League. The All Stars lost to Pokhara Avengers by 9 wickets at TU Cricket Ground.

Lumbini All Stars’ Inning

Opening with the bat, the All Stars lost all its wickets in 19.5 overs collecting 127 runs. Opening the inning Harmeet Singh scored 38 runs to become the highest scorer for the losing side. The Indian batsman hit 3 fours and sixes off 21 deliveries.

Harmeet combined with Sunil Dhamala to share a partnership of 40 runs for the fall of the first wicket. Sunil left the crease as the first wicket with 15 runs on board off 14 balls. The top-order Kushal Bhurtel, who was behind the wickets today, departed from the field following a golden duck.

The Ireland Star Harry Tector and Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee added 10 runs each to the tally. Yogendra Singh Karki (13), and Shadley van Schalkwyk (16) were the other batsmen to contribute in double figures.

With Gulsan Jha getting bowled by Zahir Khan for 2 runs, Pat Brown and Kishore Mahato left the crease for 7 and 4 runs. Moreover, Tilak Bhandari remained unbeaten for null.

Avengers’ spinners duo Bipin Khatri and Zahir Khan picked up 3 wickets each. In addition, Aarif Sheikh, Tul Bahadur Thapa, and Siddhant Lohani took 1 wicket severally.

Pokhara Avengers’ Inning

In Return, Pokhara Avengers pursued the winning target of 128 runs in 18.2 overs with the fall of a single wicket. The Sheikh brothers, Aasif Sheikh and Aarif Sheikh shared an undefeated 95 runs partnership to romp home.

Starting with the inning, Aasif Sheikh played a half-century inning. Aasif earned 77 runs off 62 deliveries with 9 fours. Furthermore, Aarif added 26 runs to the tally off 37 balls. Sumit Maharjan was the only batter to be dismissed with 13 runs in a pocket.

Kishore Mahato of Lumbini claimed the lone wicket with an expenditure of 16 runs in 3 overs.
