Kathmandu – Pokhara Avengers overcame Far West United by 3 wickets to taste the first victory coming in the sixth match.
Beginning with the bat, Far West scored 187/9 in the allocated 20 overs. Umair Ali collected the topmost of 42 runs off 25 balls with 5 sixers. Dev Khanal scored the second-best of 33 runs with 3 fours and a six off 31 delivery.
Rashid Khan bashed 2 sixers and 2 fours to topup 32 runs to the tally. Hasim Ansari (17), Hashmatullah Shahidi (4), Bhim Sharki (17), Binod Bhandari (11), Prakash Jaisi (0), Harishankar Shah (5), and Karan KC* contributed 12 to the total.
With Avengers’ Zahir Khan claiming 3 wickets, Ameer Hamza and Tul Bahadur Thapa took 2. Similarly, Kushal Malla and Aarif Sheikh picked up 1 wicket.
In Reply, Pokhara chased the winning target of 188 runs in 19.1 overs. Opener duo Sumit Maharjan (38) and Asif Sheikh (45) shared a 65 runs partnership for the fall of the first wicket.
While Kushal Malla scored 40 runs with 5 sixes off 22 balls, Siddhant Lohani got dismissed for 23 of 10 deliveries.
Upul Tharanga (9), Ameer Hamza (12), and Arif Sheikh added 1 run to the tally. Moreover, Abhimanyu Mithun combined with Bipin Khatri to collect 10 runs and win Pokhara the first match of the tournament.
Karan KC, Umair Ali, and Prakash Jaisi picked 2 wickets each whereas Bhuvan Karki took one.
