Kathmandu – Lumbini All Stars picked up their fifth consecutive win outplaying Kathmandu Knights by 35 runs in an ongoing Nepal T20 League.
Lumbini All Stars’ Inning
Lumbini, who won the toss at TU Cricket ground, elected to bat first. The All Stars lost 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs setting the target of 151 runs.
Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee smashed 3 fours and a six to earn the highest run of 40 off 27 deliveries for his side. Opening with the bat, Lahiru Milantha and Sunil Dhamala collected 25 and 3 runs respectively. Both the openers were bowled by Sunam Gautam and Azmatullah Omarzai in 2.3 and 8.3 overs.
With All Stars’ new arrival Harry Tector scoring 7 runs off 13 balls, top-order Kushal Bhurtel contributed 19 runs to the tally.
Harmeet Singh (12), Anil Sah (13), and Gulsan Jha got dismissed for 2 runs. Gulshan Jha got run out by Lokesh Bam in the final ball of the inning.
Spending 12 runs in 4 overs, Kathmandu’s Azmatullah picked up 2 wickets. Moreover, Abinash Bohara, Anil Kharel, Basir Ahamad, Sunam Gautam, and Alex Black took one wicket each.
Kathmandu Knights’ Inning
Lumbini defended the winning target of 151 runs limiting Kathmandu Knights to 115/8 in the prescribed 20 overs. With the top order batters Virandeep Singh and Gyanendra Malla returning to the pavilion following a duck out, Lokesh Bam faced a diamond duck out.
Following the dismissal of Ryan Burl (2) in the 2.5 overs, Kathmandu struggled in the early hours. The franchise representing the capital collected the puny 5 runs till the fall of the 4th wicket.
Azmatullah collected the utmost runs of 38 of 39 deliveries for the losing side. Alex Blake (11), Sunam Gautam (18), and Basir Ahamad left the crease with 10 runs in a pocket. Moreover, Kamal Singh Airee (19) and Abinash Bohara (8) lasted at the pitch till the end.
Lumbini’s Harmeet Singh claimed 3 wickets, bowling 4 overs, and expended of 7 runs. Kishore Mahato, Shandly van Schalkwyk, Tilak Bhandari, and Harry Tector booked a wicket.
