Kathmandu – The Nepal Sports Council (NSC) bid a heartfelt farewell to the Nepal National Basketball Team as they embarked on their journey to the Maldives to participate in the Five Nations Men’s Basketball Championship.
Tanka Lal Ghising, the Member Secretary of NSC, extended warm wishes to the 16-member team, which includes 12 players.
Sadish Pradhan will lead the team as the captain, while Binod Maharjan has been appointed as the vice-captain. The squad comprises Bijaya Burja, Nikesh Rakhal Magar, Mawindra Bhandari, Ajay Kushwaha, Dibeshwar Shah, Ayush Singh, Nishal Maharjan, Manish KC, Ashim Shrestha, Shreyash Bahadur Shah.
Bipin Kapali and Nripesh Shrestha have been entrusted with the coaching responsibilities, while Sushil Gurung will serve as the team manager.
The tournament, scheduled from June 14 to June 22, will feature host nation Maldives, along with Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Pakistan, competing in a round-robin league format. The top two teams from the league will advance to the finale.
