Kathmandu – Hosts Hongwanji New Diamond Youth Sports Club lifted the title of Bagmati Province New Diamond Cup U18 Open National Volleyball Championship.
The hosts left Everest Volleyball Club behind in a set of 3-1 on Saturday at the club’s under-construction covered hall.
New Diamond won the first two sets by 25-19 and 25-20 but lost the third set by 21-25. However, they managed to clinch the victory by 26-24 in a tightly contested fourth set, securing the championship title.
The champions New Diamond pursed NRs. 5 Lakhs along with trophy, medals, and certificates. Meanwhile, The runners-up Everest volleyball club received NRs. 2.5 Lakhs whereas Dhading Sports Club, who stood third were rewarded with NRs. 1 lakh.
