Kathmandu – Nepal Physiotherapist Association (NEPTA) is going to organize a futsal tournament among physiotherapists on September 3 in Kathmandu.
Leopard Physio, a participating team informed that a one-day futsal tournament is going to be organized to mark World Physiotherapist Day which falls on September 8.
Shamed Katila Shrestha, the co-owner of Leopard Physio and Executive Director of Orthoplast Rehab Center, informed that 8 teams will compete in the tournament to be held at Dhuku Futsal Hub.
In the league cum knockout tournament, the teams will be parted into two groups and the top two teams of each group will advance to the semi-finals. The last two editions could not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Former National Football team skipper Biraj Maharjan and Neo Health Clinic’s Director Surya Kunwar revealed Leopard Physio’s match jerseys amidst the program.
“In the current context, every team requires a physio to keep the players in shape for which physio also needs to stay healthy. A tournament like this will help to keep them healthy,” said Biraj. I would also like to extend my best wishes to the participating team,” he added.
Leopard Physio’s team co-owner Suraj Bhusal, players of Leopard Physio, Dajubhai FC, and others were present at the program.
Dajubhai FC, NEPTA Bagmati (Chitwan), Nada Performance and Rehabilitation Centre, Leopard Physio, Dhulikhel Hospital, FC Revive, Antagonist FC, and Fast Twitch will vie for the title. Winners will purse Rs. 30,000 whereas runners-up will bag Rs. 20,000. Similarly, the best player, the highest goal scorer, and the best goalkeeper of the tournament will be rewarded with a cash prize.
