Sandeep to play along with Hasaranga in UAE T20 International League

Agency – Nepali National Cricket team skipper Sandeep Lamichhane will play along with Sri Lankan Cricket team’s star legspinner Wanindu Hasaranga for Desert Vipers in the UAE T20 International League to be organized by the UAE Cricket Board.

Desert Vipers, which is owned by Lancer Capital has appointed former English wicket-keeping batter James Foster as the head coach of the team whereas Tom Moody is given the responsibility of the Cricket Director.

Each team can sign up to 18 players and must include 2 associate team players and 4 UAE players. Two UAE players and one associate team player must be fielded in the starting XI of every match. There will be a total of 34 matches in the competition which will be played in the fields of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

The competition is scheduled to take place in January-February 2023. During that time, Nepal is likely to play their last two series of ICC World Cup League 2. Similarly, the Big Bash League (BBL) of Australia and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) of Bangladesh are likely to be held during January and February as well.

As every team must include two associate team players, Vipers included Sandeep and Namibia’s Ruben Trumpelmann in the team.
