Kathmandu (Hamro Khelkud) – Nepali batting lineup faltered as Papua New Guinea (PNG) registered an 86-run defeat to take home the Hong Kong T20I tri-series title. Nepal, chasing 172 runs in 20 overs were packed up on just 85 runs in 16.3 overs.

Sundeep Jora scored 17 runs for Nepal and was the highest scorer on the day. Aarif Sheikh added 15 to the total while Rohit Paudel made 12 runs. The rest of the batters failed to reach double figures.
Kabua Morea, Semo Kamea, Chad Soper and Sese Bau took two wickets each for PNG while Alei Nao took one wicket.
Earlier, losing the toss and being invited to bat first in Mong Kok, PNG racked up 171 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Opener Tony Ura played a 37-ball innings of 61 runs with five fours and four sixes in his innings. Alei Nao finished the innings off with a 10-ball 30 with one four and three maximums in his innings.
Aakash Chand and Kushal Bhurtel took three wickets each for Nepal. Karan KC and Gulshan Jha took one wicket each.
Nepal had defeated PNG the day before to qualify for the final with the first match against Hong Kong being washed out.
