Kathmandu – An eight-member Nepali judo team has left for Thailand to take part in the Asian Cadet and Junior Judo Championship to be held from July 17-23.
The eight-member team includes four players and four officials including team leader and Nepal Judo Association President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya, who is also the education and coaching commission member of the Judo Union of Asia.
Uttam Pradhan Shrestha will compete in the U-60 junior boys category while Tara Bahadur Bhujel will take part in the U-55 kg cadet boys section. Similarly, Devaki Maya Shrestha will represent Nepal in the U-52 kg girls section while her sister Nisha Shrestha compete in U-48 kg girls category.
Dawa Gyaljen is the team manager and Deepak Shrestha is the coach.
National Sports Council ( NSC) member-secretary Tankalal Ghishing bade farewell to the team and wished for its successful participation in the event.
