Kathmandu – Nepal have stormed into the final of the AVC Asian Central Zone Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Championship in the women’s section with a fourth consecutive victory.

Defending champions Nepal defeated Uzbekistan in straight sets during their match held in Mirpur, Dhaka on Sunday. Unbeaten Nepal claimed the first set 25-20. The second set was competitive but Nepal prevailed over their opponents with a 25-23 win. Taking the third set 25-14, Nepal qualified for the final with one round-robin match remaining.
Nepal will next face Kyrgyzstan in their last league match. Uzbekistan, who suffered their first defeat, also have chances to qualify for the final. Uzbekistan will take on Sri Lanka during the league match on Monday. The team that wins this match will qualify for the final.
Unbeaten Nepal have 11 points from four matches. Sri Lanka are second with 10 points followed by Uzbekistan with 9 points. Kyrgyzstan have 6 points while hosts Bangladesh and the Maldives are yet to score any point.
The final is slated for Tuesday.
