Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team are all set to travel to India to prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers at the academy of the IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, located in Nagpur, India.

The team, fresh from their participation in the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD), returned home on Thursday. Now, they’re set to travel to India on a ten-day high-performance camp in Nagpur.

Players who were not a part of the Nepali team in China have already made their way to Nagpur. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) have confirmed that the team will return to Nepal after this intensive camp, ready for the upcoming triangular series and World Cup qualifiers.

ICC T20 World Cup Asia Zone Qualifiers will be held from October 30 to November 6, at the Mulpani and TU Cricket Grounds. In Group A, Nepal find themselves alongside Singapore, Oman and Malaysia, while Group B has UAE, Bahrain, Hong Kong and Kuwait.

The top two teams from the qualifiers will qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup next year, slated to take place in America and West Indies. Nepal are the biggest contenders for the title, seeking to secure a spot in the T20 World Cup for the first time since 2014.

Before diving into the World Cup qualifiers, Nepal will engage in a triangular T20I series, facing off against UAE and Hong Kong. This tri-series is scheduled from October 17 to 26, with all matches (except the final) hosted at the Mulpani ground.
