Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Hosts Nepal are poised to clash with India in the upcoming semi-finals of the SAFF U-19 Championship, currently going on in Kathmandu. India secured their spot in the semis by defeating Bhutan 2-1 in the final match of Group B.
India remained undefeated in their two matches, topping Group B with a total of six points, while Bhutan finished as runners-up with three points from their two group-stage games. In Group A, Pakistan emerged as the group winners with four points from two matches, and Nepal secured the runners-up position with three points from their two encounters.
The semi-final showdown between Nepal and India is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 PM at the Dasharath Stadium. On the same day, the first semi-final match will kick off at 1:30 PM between Bhutan and Pakistan.
Nepal’s journey to the semi-finals included a 1-0 loss to Pakistan in their first match, followed by a convincing 4-1 victory over Maldives. Meanwhile, India opened their campaign with a 3-0 win against Bangladesh.
As for the other teams, Maldives earned one point from Group A, while Bangladesh exited the group stage without accumulating any points. The tournament’s final is set to take place on Saturday.
