Nepal’s U-17 Women’s football team secured a brilliant victory against the hosts Jordan in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers on Friday.
The victory came in the final match of the group stage where Nepal dominated the game, defeating the host team 4-1, and keeping their chances alive to advance to the next round.
Nepal’s win was crucial as it put them in contention to qualify for the next round, provided Jordan beats Iran in the final match of Group H’. If Jordan does so, Nepal will progress to the next round, but if Iran wins or draws the match, Nepal’s journey in the qualifiers will come to an end. The team that tops the group will progress to the next stage.
In the opening match, Nepal had suffered a close 1-0 defeat to Iran, but they made an impressive comeback in the crucial game against Jordan.
