Kathmandu – Machhindra FC’s forward Chencho Gyeltshen will miss the remaining games of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2023 after sustaining injury against Three Star Club.
The Bhutanese National Team captain fractured his metatarsal bone in left leg while contesting a ball during the game. “Chencho’s left foot has been put in a plaster cast and he is expected to be sidelined for approximately two and a half months,” confirmed a senior official fro Machhindra FC.
“During our last match against Three Star, Chencho sustained an injury. He got his bone fractured. Yesterday, he had his foot plastered and the doctor has advised to rest for about two and a half months,” he added.
So far, the 26-year-old striker has contributed 1 goal and 1 assist to his team, with his sole goal coming in a match against Friends Club on April 22. He was adjudged the player of the match in that game.
Defending champions Machhindra FC signed Chencho on April 3 after the completion of the Three Nations Cup, where he represented Bhutan. Nepal hosted the Three Nations Cup in the last week of March featuring Bhutan and Laos where Nepal was crowned Champions.
