Kathmandu – Nepal has been declared team champions during the 13th NSKA Karate Championship held in Kathmandu. Nepal finished first with 40 gold medals in the event held at the covered hall of the Tripureshwar-based National Sports Council.
Indian Sotokan Karate Kolkata finished a distant second with 3 golds while TSRKKO secured the third position with 2 golds. The tournament was organized by Nepal Sotokan Karate Association.
Nepal’s Pradeep Rai and Angela Dongol were adjudged the best players in male and female categories respectively.
NSC Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising handed over the prizes to the winners amid a function on Thursday. A total of 600 players had participated in 46 different categories of the event.
