NAA Confirms Athletes for Asian Championship and ASIAD

Kathmandu – The Nepal Athletics Association (NAA) has officially announced the athletes who will be representing Nepal in the upcoming 19th Asian Games (ASIAD) in Hangzhou, China, and the 24th Asian Athletics Championship to be held in Thailand.

For the 19th ASIAD, scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8, the NAA has selected a team of four male and three female athletes.

Deepak Adhikari will be representing Nepal in the 10,000m race, while Rajan Rokaya will compete in the marathon event. Som Bahadur Kumal has been chosen for the 400m and 800m races, and Gopichandra Parki will run in the 5,000m race.

On the women’s side, Pushpa Bhandari will take on the challenge of the women’s marathon, Rajpura Pachai will compete in the 5,000m race, and Santoshi Shrestha will participate in the 10,000m race.

Before the ASIAD, the Nepali athletics team will travel to Bangkok, Thailand, to participate in the 24th Asian Athletics Championship, scheduled from July 12 to 16. The NAA has selected a team of seven athletes, including five male and two female runners, for this event.

Gopichandra Parki and Aayush Kunwar have been chosen to represent Nepal in the 200m and 100m races, respectively. Similarly, Mukesh Pal will showcase his abilities in the 1,500m and 5,000m races. Som Bahadur will compete in the 400m and 800m races, while Deepak Adhikari will participate in the 10,000m race.

In the women’s section, Fulmati Rana will represent Nepal in the 800m and 1,500m races, and Rajpura Pachai will take on the challenge in the 5,000m race.
