Manchester United win 3-0

Oslo (Agency) – Manchester United bounced back to defeat Valerenga 3-0 in their pre-season friendly match after losing their earlier friendly against Barcelona.

Marouane Fellaini gave Manchester United the lead through a powerful header in the first half. Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay sealed the victory for the Red Devils in the second half. The 29-year-old Belgian international Marouane Fellaini is amidst the talk of departing to Galatasaray after Manchester United are nearly confirmed to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.

Manchester United, who were comparatively the better side on paper, had the match under good control. However, it was not until the 44th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross found Fellaini to give them the lead. Jose Mourinho made 9 changes to his side in the second half. Romelu Lukaku, just after coming on for two minutes, doubled the lead with a header. Likewise, Scott McTominy scored in the 70th minute, which was his first goal for the senior team.

Manchester United will be playing their final pre-season match on Wednesday against Sampdoria. Then, they will kickoff their season against Real Madrid on August 8 in the UEFA Super Cup.
