Manchester United registered its first win of the season

Agency – After two frustrating losses, Manchester United procures its first three points in the English Premier League defeating Liverpool.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored apiece at Old Trafford as Manchester United defeated visitors by a narrow margin of 2-1.  

Sancho slotted the ball home in the 16th minute of the match following Anthony Elanga’s cutback. He dribbled past two defenders and scored to take the hosts into the lead.    

Martial stepped onto the field after the break to assist Rashford with a goal as Rashford doubled United’s lead in the early minutes of the second half. Mohammad Salah scored a consolation for Liverpool in the 82nd minute of the match.

United’s manager Erik ten Hag dropped skipper Harry Maguire and forward Cristiano Ronaldo from the Starting XI. While Ronaldo stepped on the field in the 85th minute, Maguire didn’t feature in the match.

Following the win, United climbed to the 14th position of the league’s point table with 3 points from 3 matches. Liverpool stands two steps below United in 16th with 2 points from 3 matches.
