Kathmandu – Eight times champions Manang Marshyangdi Club faced their fifth consecutive defeat in an ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League.

Despite this victory, Nepal Police Club remained at the bottom of the table with only 9 points from 12 matches, below Himalayan Sherpa Club, who have 10 points from 11 matches.

At the Dasarath Stadium, Friends Club secured a 3-1 victory against New Road Team (NRT) enabling them to climb up to the 10th position in the league table.

Rafiq Aminu, Torric Jebrin, and Prakash Budhathoki each scored a goal for Friends, while Sanjeeb Bista scored a consolation goal for NRT.

Rafiq gave Friends an early lead in the 14th minute, but Sanjeeb Bista leveled the game in the 41st minute. However, Torric Jebrin scored an impressive free-kick in injury time to give Friends a lead going into the interval.

In the second half, skipper Prakash Budhathoki secured Friends Club’s victory with a goal in the 76th minute of the match. This win is a significant boost for Friends Club’s morale and could potentially help them climb up the league table further.
