Khumaltar beats Army

Kathmandu – FC Khumaltar bounced back from their heavy defeat in the previous outing by beating Tribhuvan Army Football Club 3-2 in a thrilling Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2023 match at Dasarath Stadium on Saturday.

Khumaltar started the game with great intensity and took the lead in the 7th minute through a goal from Messouke Olomou. However, Army fought back and equalized in the 18th minute with a penalty converted by Nawayug Shrestha.

Khumaltar regained their lead in the 33rd minute when Messouke scored his second goal of the game from a free-kick just outside the box. The first half ended with Khumaltar leading 2-1.

In the second half, Khumaltar continued to dominate and their skipper, Rejin Subba, extended their lead in the 54th minute. Army tried to make a comeback but could only manage to score a late goal in the 90th minute through Sushant Chaudhary. The match ended 3-2 in favor of Khumaltar.

With this win, Khumaltar moved up to the 10th position in the league table with 10 points from 9 matches while Army slipped to 8th with 12 points.
