Katuwal appointed as interim head coach for Pakistan friendly, preliminary squad announced

Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Tuesday accepted the friendly match proposal made by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).

The PFF, in mid-october, proposed ANFA to play two friendlies on 14 and 22 November. However, ANFA agreed to play only a single friendly match stating that playing two matches is impracticable due to the General Election of Nepal scheduled for November 20 which will elect 275 members of the House of Representatives.

On Tuesday, ANFA confirmed that Nepal National Team will play a friendly match against Pakistan National Team on November 16 for which ANFA appointed Prabesh Katuwal as the interim head coach. Katuwal had announced 30 membered permilinary squad for the firneldy on the same day of his appoinment.

Earlier, Pradip Humagain lead Nepal to a 3-0 victory in a friendly match against Bangladesh on September 27 at Dashrath Rangashala. All 3 goals came from Anjan Bista. Humagain was appointed as the interim head coach for Bangladesh friendly as the post went vacant after the resignation of the then Head Coach Abdullah Alumtairi.
