Kathmandu – Jawalakhel Youth Club secured an impressive 6-1 victory over Nepal Police Club in a nail-biting encounter at the Chyasal Stadium to maintain their position at the top of the table in the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2023.
Hisub Thapaliya and Nkoto Synous Masoabi each scored a brace, while Abdulaziz Nishonvaev and Fode Fofana netted one goal each. Police managed to score a consolation goal through Joe Aidoo in the 88th minute, but it was not enough to avoid a crushing defeat.
Jawalakhel dominated the game from the start, with Fode Fofana opening the scoring in the 30th minute from the spot kick. Jawalakhel went into halftime with a 1-0 lead, and returned to the field with renewed vigor, scoring five more goals and conceding only one.
In the 51st minute of the game, Hisub Thapaliya scored a goal that doubled Jawalakhel’s lead. Thirteen minutes later, Nkoto Synous Masoabi scored another goal, bringing their lead to three. Nkoto scored his brace in the 81st minute, extending Jawalakhel’s lead to an impressive 4-0. Hisub then scored his second goal just three minutes after Nkoto’s second goal.
Joe Aidoo scored a consolation goal for Police in the 88th minute, but it was too little too late. Jawalakehl’s Abdulaziz Nishonvaev then put the icing on the cake by scoring a final goal in the second minute of injury time.
With this win, Jawalakhel maintained their top spot in the league standings, having accumulated 20 points from 10 matches. On the other hand, Police remained at the bottom of the table with only 5 points playing the same number of matches.
