Kathmandu – Jawalakhel Youth Club moved to second in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League by defeating New Road Team 2-1 at ANFA Complex.
Captain Simanta Thapa and Fode Fofana scored the goals for Jawalakhel, while NRT’s Sanjeeb Bista scored a consolation goal, with all three goals being scored in the second half.
Simanta scored the first goal in the 68th minute while Fode Fofana doubled Jawalakhel’s lead in the 77th minute. Meanwhile, Sanjeeb Bista scored one apiece for NRT in the 80th minute.
Jawalakhel earned 6 points from their two games with this win, while NRT suffered their second consecutive defeat and is yet to earn any points, having lost their first match 2-1 against Satdobato Youth Club.
