Kathmandu – Jawalakhel Youth Club dominated Friends Club with an empathic 4-1 victory in an ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League at Chyasal Stadium.
Nkoto Synous Masoabi was the standout performer for Jawalakhel, netting a brace, while Rahul and Fode Fofana added one each to complete the rout. Shyam Babu Kyapchhaki scored the consolation goal for Friends.
Jawalakhel dominated the game from the outset and took the lead in the 25th minute when their Indian defender Rahul headed home from Abdualziz Nishonvaev’s corner. Just six minutes later, Abdulaziz provided another assist through a freekick, and Masoabi found the back of the net to double Jawalakhel’s lead.
Masoabi scored his brace in the 64th minute from the penalty spot. Jawalakhel received a spot kick after Anjal Maharjan handled the ball inside the box.
Shyam Babu scored a consolation goal for Friends in the 80th minute, but Fode Fofana sealed the victory for Jawalakhel in the first minute of stoppage time with a fantastic volley following Masoabi’s pass.
The win took Jawalakhel to the top of the table with 30 points from 17 matches, while second-placed Api Power Church Boys United have the same number of points but with a game in hand. Friends Club, on the other hand, remained in eleventh place with 19 points from 17 matches.
