Four Weightlifting Players Chosen to Represent Nepal in the 19th ASIAD

Kathmandu – The Weightlifting Association has announced the selection of four players who will represent Nepal in the Weightlifting Tournament at the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD) to be held in Hangzhou, China.

The Association conducted a selection process and chose two male and two female players from the final selection, which took place on Monday, as per the Association’s President Ram Krishna Shrestha.

Bishal Singh Bista from Nepal Police Club and Bikash Bhatt from Kanchanpur have been selected to compete in the men’s 96kg and 81kg categories, respectively. Meanwhile, Tikamaya Gurung from Nepal Police Club and Nepal Army’s Sharada Chaudhary has been chosen to participate in the women’s 55kg and 64kg categories, respectively.

The 19th Asian Games, one of the most prestigious multi-sport events in Asia, is scheduled to be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023, in Hangzhou, China.
