Agency – It took Ecuador skipper Enner Valencia 16 minutes to be named the first player to score a goal in FIFA World Cup 2022.
Ecuador earned a spot kick as Al Sheeb brought Valencia down. Ecuador’s all-time top goal scorer, Valencia then made no mistake from the spot kick.
Earlier, Valencia headed the ball into the back of the net following a terrible mistake by Qatar’s custodian Al Sheeb, failing to punch a simple cross in the 3rd minute of the match. However, the goal was disallowed for offside by the match referee Daniele Orsato.
